On the road to becoming a star...
Let's get started then, shall we? Creating a character to play in SoccerStar is a most pleasant experience. There is a myriad of faces and features to choose from and an astounding number of impressive mustache choices. After we chose a regal beard and a nice comb over, we were ready to get our hands – erm, feet – dirty.
Looking over the interface, we saw plenty of things to do. We could head to the massage parlor and take a nice relaxing break that we had yet to earn, a shop to buy us some new clothes, the training ground where we could get better and of course, the rankings.
A Job? What is that?
For starters, we needed to get ourselves a career. Unfortunately, being the mediocre soccer "star" that we started out as means we have to deal with the food service industry for a while... the limos will come later, hopefully. Nothing in life is free, or so the saying goes, and therefore we had to work. While that was fun and all, we really just wanted to get playing. However, with the money that we earned, we took a peek into the shop and realized we could get some cool stuff for our character like new shoes or outfits.
Actually becoming that previously mentioned star...
After all the work we did we wanted to get our kick on. So, we headed down to the training ground to start. Here we trained our skills to give us some better stats, because we can’t be THIS bad forever. You can train in different areas such as tactics, shooting and dribbling. Each one features some fun graphics to go along with the training to keep things exciting. Remember though, that every activity costs energy and if you do too much, you’ll have to wait to gain it back.
As we improved our skills and completed various tasks, our skill ranking went up. That’s right; the score of our player got compared to that of everyone else playing on the rankings. Needless to say, we could’ve been higher but we have to start somewhere!

Of course, the longer we played, the better we got and more money we earned. Sure, we got some nice stuff at the shop and visited the spa a couple times to relax. Who wouldn’t? Overall, SoccerStar is a fun browser game to play with the right mixture of comedy and character progression for someone of any age to enjoy. Think you can train hard enough to become the next star?
